Science Club

Science Club

Science Club was created by Dr. Cassondra Vernier, a research scientist at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, to bring career oriented science lessons to RTHS. With presentations from local professors, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows, Science Club exposes students to real ongoing research topics, as well as fun hands-on labs, such as the observation honey bee hive and the insect petting zoo. A few students from Science Club will also have the chance to be hired as summer interns in the Robinson lab at UIUC. During their internship, these students work alongside other honey bee researchers and pursue their own independent research project under Dr. Vernier's guidance.
