I have my Bachelors in LAS (English) with a Secondary Education Minor and Masters in Education (Curriculum, Technology, and Education Reform) from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana (I-L-L!). I also have my Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of Writing and Masters in Educational Leadership from Eastern Illinois University. I began teaching ELA at RTHS in 2006 and am currently the ELA Team Leader. I also oversee Student Council as one of the advisors and support new teachers as a Teacher Mentor.

 

I love seeing students grow and mature in their knowledge, identity, and character throughout their time here at RTHS. My goal as an educator is to meet students where they are and to help them discover and use their strengths in overcoming various challenges they may face. I love working with the amazing Staffulty at RTHS to support our students in achieving success now, so they can build successful futures.

I am a Reading Specialist, and I teach Strategic Literacy. This is my 25th year as a teacher, and my 18th year at Rantoul Township High School.

Ms. Natalya Hatfield has been an educator for 3 years and has been a part of the RTHS Language team for 2 years. She currently teaches English I, Honors English II, and Multicultural Lit.

 

I love inspiring students to find passion within literature, whether it's through reading or writing. Watching them make connections between what's written on the page and what's occurring in the world around them never ceases to amaze me.

Mrs. Krista Hinkley has been an educator for 20 years and has been a part of the RTHS Language Team for 8 years. She grew up in Rantoul and is a member of the Class of 2002. She has Master's degrees in Educational Administration and in English. She currently teaches English 2 Memoir, English 3, and AP English Language, and Sports Literature.

 

I love empowering my students through reading and writing. Growing up, I loved to read and write. I know not everyone will be an English major like me, but I want to make sure that my students leave class knowing how to advocate for themselves in writing and how to use writing and reading for what they personally love in life.

 

I love  teaching students about the science happening around them!

Mr. Matthews is in his 21st year at Rantoul Township High School. He got his Bachelor's from Illinois State University and is going to the University of Illinois for grad school. He teachers Theatre Arts, Acting 1, Senior English, Graphic Novels, and Revolutions in Literature.

I have been working at RTHS since 2024, when I first started as a Student Teacher. I attended two years of community college at Southeastern Illinois College, and then transferred to UIUC to finish my teaching degree! During that time, I was assigned to Student Teach here with the English team. After graduating in May of 2024, I came back to sub the following year! Then, I was asked to fill an opening on the English Team full-time, and take over the Yearbook Program / Modern Media classes! Now, I teach English, English Honors, Modern Media, and sometimes, Creative Writing and Speech! This is technically my 4th school-year in the building, as of Fall 2026, and it has been a true joy to watch all the students I started with continue to grow, change, and succeed.

 

I love building positive relationships with all the students who I am able to see, talk to, and interact with each day. Knowing someone cares about you, and wants to see you succeed, often makes a huge difference when you are striving to reach new goals, learn new things, and make new friends. My goal is to always ensure they know they are supported, and to encourage them to reach beyond what they thought they were capable of. Through stories, and through photography and design, these students are able to make magic happen; I am just so honored to be a small part of that journey!

This is Sr. Croisant's 5th year at RTHS. He currently teaches Spanish 1, 3, 4, and Spanish for Native Speakers.

 

I love  helping my students use language not just as a way to connect with new people and cultures, but also as a lens for looking at themselves and their world from a new perspective.

I completed my undergraduate education at U of I and my Master's Degree at EIU. I taught for 12 years before becoming an administrator. I served as a high school and elementary school assistant principal for 10 years before returning to RTHS as a teacher. I am an instructor in the Multilingual department, teaching ESL classes. This is my 8th year at RTHS (from 2000-2003 and 2022-now).

I love the students I teach! They are always interesting and patient. I also love my colleagues, especially my West Wing friends.

Ms. Hillary Veitch has been an educator for 14 years and is in her 7th year teaching at RTHS. She currently teaches ESL 1, ESL 4, and ELL Resource.
